Meek and Mild

When I am cross. make me meek and mild,
Make me worthy, Dear LORD, to be YOUR child.
Tell me what YOU would have me do
And I will do the best I can for YOU.

I'm not very smart , you know that LORD,
But teach me someway to spread YOUR WORD.
If I am worthy, let others see
The good YOU somehow see in me.

Let me help the old and the young,
I'll read them a story, I'll sing them a song.
If I see one smile on a lonely face,
I'll know, Dear GOD, I've found my place.
